Coalbed Methane is a Biogenic #Gas, extremely high C1, plentiful here in Alberta, perfect for heating homes, farms, greenhouses, and businesses on our clean natural gas grid. Eventually maybe even #LNG exports. Coalbed developments all require at least one #AER Control Well. Control wells may be for Desorption test and/or Pressure and Flow Control testing. Desorption testing is the first priority because scheduling annual pressure and flow control #welltests depends on a “wet” or “dry” gas designation. Minimum Desorption Testing Requirements include a full suite of geophysical logs and at least one core sample for each coal zone being developed. Cuttings may be used in place of core for desorption testing, provided that the cuttings test results for the #CBM development can be calibrated to a core desorption test.
