Characterizing Reservoir Properties using Diagnostic Fracture Injection Testing (DFIT) was presented at a recent Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) luncheon. A great talk – and a great reservoir diagnostic test – as our example Level 2 eREPORT illustrates: DFIT2 Mini-frac’ Fall-off.
But…here in Alberta…as per ERCB Bulletin 2010-38 surface (or acoustic well sounder) data are no longer acceptable for Initial Pressure Gas or Initial Pressure Oil requirements. For compliance with Initial Pressure requirements the Board now stipulates the recording of subsurface pressure measurements.
Sensible knowledge and advice: with more than 33 years practical experience we can confidently recommend several different test type alternatives that will conform with ERCB regulations, acquire reservoir engineering data, and expedite completion operations. It all depends on your circumstances and needs.
