Welltest 200: PTA Tool Kit

PTA is a Production Engineering tool when we draw tubing performance curves. Liquid lift is a factor we must contend with in most natural gas wells. Recovering (lifting) liquids with the gas is a velocity issue, and velocity is a function of the size of production tubing (cross-sectional area). Water, oil, and condensate all have different densities and flow dynamics. Tubing performance, liquid lift, and plunger lift curves help size production tubing with consideration for entrained liquids. Sometimes all it takes to revive a watered-out gas well is a small ID coiled capillary tubing string to increase gas velocity and lift liquids.
