PTA is a Reservoir Engineering tool when we qualify induced fracture (frac’) effectiveness. Successful fracture stimulation treatments generate an Infinite Conductivity pattern, identified by a long Linear half (½) slope dominating the pressure build-up. Less effective treatments generate a Finite Conductivity pattern, interpreted by a short Bilinear (¼) slope, often transitioning towards pseudo-Radial flow. Treatment Quality Control (QC) parameters include Fracture Half-Length (xf) and Choked Fracture Skin (sc); or Fracture Half-Length (xf), Fracture Flow Capacity (kfw), and Fracture Face Skin (sf), respectively.
